Everything in the garden is luverley

Except for the plank with the nail in it that I trod on this morning.

But I hobbled on heroic and undaunted and have got the leeks and cauliflowers in and made a promising start on the weeding.

We picked up three sacks and a dustbin full of really well rotted fumier cheval (horse poo) from our friend up the road this morning and we will be going back for more of this black gold throughout the next week or so until we run out of space to dig it into the soil or she gets sick of seeing us. I'm hoping this is going to ensure a bumper harvest.

The Dinnerladies came home yesterday from their holidays and escaped from their run the minute we left the garden. "Oh they don't bother trying to get out under the gaps" Debra had said. Well obviously not at Chez Us in France where there were constant deliveries of treats and tit bits. I just knew they'd be legging it off down the road for the finer things in life the moment they got the chance. Ah but they blessed us with four eggs this morning so I forgive them their fickle little ways.

Oh and the sun has been shining all day. Fab

I can imagine you feel absolutely at peace again! How wonderful for you - and all your plans for planting made me smile.

Yesterday I went with a blogging friend up the river where we go whitewater rafting. We took a picnic with us and ended up sitting in a shelter gulping our hot tea out of our thermos as a blizzard blew around us!

Aims actually that sounds quite wonderful. I love getting out into the countryside on a wintery day. Our favourite in the UK was to go to a deserted beach in the middle of winter blow all the cobwebs away then sit all cosy in the car

Whoopppeee! Glad you are back and you sound so incredibly happy. Looking forward to hearing about your tales now you are home. That travel sickness sounds like hell but no more of that for a while eh?

Glad auntie Debs did a great job with those dinner ladies. They'll be asking for shared custody visits soon!

How great to be back in France! Hope the plank and nail combo didn't do too much damage - that could be nasty you know...

Anyway, enjoy being back - looks like the summer isn't too far away....hooray!

There's no place like home, is there?

I still can't believe you've got comedy chickens. They are too funny...

MOB I haven't felt so ill in a long time but it's all a distant memory now!

TBNIL I've put in a request for sunshine during the day and gentle rain overnight but I think the sunshine bit got lost in the translation. Next door says it's La Lune Rousse that causes all the rain. Just got to get to the bottom of that one some time.

Moonroot Too true it took too long to find my ruby slippers

Jen It's a bit sad though when chickens can make fools of you. I don't know why it is I keep thinking about getting more.
