Autumn

This doesn't really do it justice.
Out and about today it was so beautiful I had to add wishing I was an artist to my long list of stuff I would like to be good at.
Actually I would like to be good at all sorts of arty crafty stuff mainly because I like the raw materials and implements. I can spend ages wondering round Hobbicraft despite having neither hobby nor craft to my name.
Given the chance and the bank balance I would have a "studio" with a potters wheel and kiln and pigments and textiles and beads and paper and brushes and those little power tools and little drawers to put them in and shelves to display them on.
I can make candles. But then who can't?

You can make pottery? Cool!

Candle-making is fun, and I don't think you should knock your candle skills.

That's what I like about you, Breezy - you want it all NOW!

I was always so envious of the guys at school that were good artists - even the one's that could just draw cartoons. It is such a great way to express yourself. We have such beautiful countryside around us here and I wish I could draw it but I can't even take a decent photo of it!

Imperatrix No I can't but it doesn't stop me wanting the stuff

HW I wish I had a witty comeback (I'll add it to my list)

MOB Me too exactly - plus there's those little boxes with all the colours in and the foldy up easel and all those brushes . . .

first of all, I can't make candles...then do you realize all the things you've done and do everyday...very few people are real"artists with a big A" but being able to enjoy little things of everyday life to write them down and share them with us is the work of a really artistic soul...and thet's much better...

I wish I'd found your blog before, it's both beautiful and funny - I came here via Mousie. I loved your recipe for chestnut and celery soup:)
I can't make candles either - I've never tried. It's not worth it as DH appears to think that if a candle is lit in the house it will immediately go up in flames! The house that is:)

Mousie You are just SO nice!

Rowan Hello thank you for dropping by. Shame you're not allowed candles you could always have lanterns outside though
