Breuilaufa Dolmen

Almost every time we go out in the car we pass a signpost for the dolmen at Breuilaufa. We keep promising ourselves the slight diversion to go see it but somehow in three years we never have even though it's only about two miles away.
Today we did.
And here it is stood standing there about twenty yards into the field.
Inside on a ledge was a small sheaf of wheat.
We'll go again soon I think.

It's quite amazing what we have almost on our doorsteps that we never quite find the time to notice...

There's something hypnotic about dolmen... amazing 'stillness' somehow...

That'll be from the first cutting of wheat from someone's field - part of the pagan festival we call Lammas in the UK.

Jen yes it did feel "still" that's exactly it.

Hedgewizard I thought so too at least I thought it would be the first from someone's field but didn't connect it in my mind to Lammas. I was just pleased that the dolmen was acknowledged in that way by someone

Perhaps you could take a little something from your plot once a year, to say thank you. You can never have too many friends...

I like that idea
